Consideration about font style

We reviewed our edit and noticed that the detailed style of our font was lost of the busy background. we considered using the credits on pitch black backgrounds however because our project reached 2 minutes already, adding font on still black background would make it too long.

Title Research

Before we made our film opening we researched different types of crime/action films and what type of titles and fonts they used. This was to give an idea of what kind of opening titles we should use in our opening. We did make a few mistakes in our first attempts by using plain credits which did not go along with our film genre, however we did more research into credits and found that the fonts that are genre related  such as prison uniforms, gave a more criminal effect.

Initially we thought we would have to have all of our names in the opening credits however after all the film research we did, we  realized that in most film openings the only names which appear in the credits are the main actors. Only at the end credits do all the other names show up such as the director, producer, editors, cameraman's, etc . We also made minor mistakes such as using times new roman font, which made it boring and dull.

Titles

The two videos below are two titles one which says Sark media and the other says the betrayal, we   decided no to use these because when we had done our title research and we saw that these titles are not suitable for our genre.

This is the outro we made for our opening but we could not use it as our film was too long as it is and we had to make it 2 minutes or under and if we had used this then it would have made it longer then we are allowed.

Sound Research

S.A.R.K MEDIA’S group looked into various different crime and action films. And we have come across music, which is suspenseful and mysterious. Crime films are meant to have music, which sounds quiet, and creepy this adds to the uncertainty of the audience.

The music and sounds used in our film opening is sort of thriller and mysterious music. The way in which the audience will recognize that something really important is going to happen in the film soon. By keeping the audience intrigued with the loud music, it shows they want to know what will happen next. In films such as Die Hard and Dark Knight, which we used in our blog, the director uses loud music to add suspense.

The first few seconds of the film opening the music sounds as if there has been a robbery and the someone is creeping along, then it gradually gets louder to make sure the audience are still watching anticipating that something is going to happen.

The Gunshot scene its one of the main scenes, the sound used for the gunshot had to sound exactly like the gun in the scene, if it sounded like a machine gun it would have ruined the whole opening scene. We researched what types of guns have what types of sounds using, Google, Youtube and clips from crime/action films.

In the last scene where the thief (Khayrul Islam) opens the stolen briefcase, we use popular cheerful but still creepy music to describe to things, the surrounding of the thief and the feelings of the thief. The reason we use emotional expressing music is so that the audience know what is going on.

We listened to this type of music and it gave us an idea of what we could use in our film opening.
